I often hear people say they have a personal relationship with God, and I wonder what is their definition of a personal relationship. In a successful relationship it is crucial to communicate upfront what the expectations are for the relationship and both parties agree to fulfilling those expectations. If God doesn't want us to be "unequally yoked" to each other, why would He accept that kind of relationship with us. Today's message from CLC on "Relational Not Religious". God is not seeking for more ceremony, He's seeking for fellowship.

In my years as a pastor I've seen alot of believers surrender to inactivity and spiritual slumber during and after emotional suffering - and that is just what the devil wants you to do while he steals your joy and your victory. February 5th is Super Bowl Sunday.After 20 weeks of grueling competition one team will be crowned “winners” the other team will feel like “losers”.
All the suffering and sacrifices will be worth it for the winning team. For the “losers” the sacrifices will not feel justified. Most of us have felt like a "loser" at some point in our life. The bible speaks of a place called the pool of Bethesda. The name Bethesda in Hebrew means "Place of Outpouring" or "House of Grace". I believe God has called His church to be a Bethesda, a house of healing for the sick and needy. Unfortunately many christians just see the church as a place to take a bath. Are we polluting the water or purifying the people? It's time for a healing to begin and joy to be restored.
